Abraham-Louis Perrelet was born in Neuchâtel, Switzerland and was a renowned horologist. Perrelet invented a self-winding mechanism in 1770 for pocket watches. Today Perrelet is perhaps most well-known for its Turbine watches featuring a spinning rotor.
